Polls: NSCDC Arrests Thugs in Enugu

The Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of scores of suspected thugs within the Nsukka axis of Enugu State.

The spokesman of the Enugu State Command of the corps, Danny Iwuchukwu, who confirmed the arrest, stated that it was carried out within the early hours of Saturday, the election day.

He stated that the thugs, numbering over 100, had been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Military offering safety within the Nsukka axis after an intelligence tip-off at a well-liked lodge in Nsukka.

He famous that the thugs, who had been arrested with AK47 rifles and different harmful weapons, together with axes, golf equipment and matchets have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police in Nsukka.
